The Traditional Style
Traditional, or classic wedding photography was the first style in the history of wedding photography and still probably the most common style used today. This style is thought of as timeless and will most likely be seen in years to come. The concept of traditional wedding photography is to carefully pose each shot and where the subjects are always aware of the camera. Typically the photographer is very involved in arranging, giving direction, and controlling each shot. Many brides find this as a helpful guide during their wedding day, and others find it too disruptive. Posing each and every shot may end up being very time consuming since the photographer has to gather a number of groups of people together and arrange them. Sometimes brides and grooms will have portraits taken of them ahead of time to better plan for the actual day and in the end save them some time (Carpenito).
The Traditional Wedding Photographer
The traditional wedding photographer usually has excellent portraiture skills. These photographers are concerned with the quality of an image down the very last detail, including lighting, posing, and background. Many times there is a list of typical photos the traditional photographer will take. This style is best if the bride wants to make sure to get all the traditional poses and portraits of specific family members (Carpenito).
