This was the first wedding I did independently of the company I was working with. My uncle gave me the contact and I set up an initial meeting with the groom. They were planning a very untraditional wedding incorporating many different customs from their different backgrounds. The groom and the best man wore kilts and the bride changed into a sari for the reception. During the planning stages, the bride and groom were toying with the idea of having one of their dogs as a ring bearer, but they didn’t end up doing this. This wedding was outside in a field in a state park. The reception was in the same location under a tent and in a gazebo. This experience was a really great first personal wedding. The lighting was easy to work with, and I was able to use a zoom lens from the end of the aisle in order to get some really nice close ups. The other photographer worked from closer in, using a wide angle shot to get a different perspective.
