Julia and Dan actually booked and have been planning their wedding since the end of 2019, before all of the craziness that is Covid and the uncertain world we live in now. I can’t imagine the rollercoaster of emotions they experienced over the last year and a half leading up to their day. Fortunately, with the vaccines out and cases dropping by the day, very few of their plans ended up being affected by the pandemic. 

These high school sweethearts have bonded over their mutual love of trying new foods, even creating their own food-centered Instagram, @savorcuse, working out, and traveling together. I was really excited when Julia booked their wedding, not only are they a fun-loving and stunning couple, but since the Sinclair of Skaneateles had opened, I’ve wanted to photograph a wedding there. The venue did not disappoint – the setting is beautiful and the vibe is just my style. The 3rd-floor suite offers the perfect spot for newlywed portraits with the most adorable built-in swings, beautiful lighting, nooks designed for photo ops, and of course the ever-popular Juliet balcony, which we utilized a few times, inside and out.

Leading up to the wedding day, the weather was looking a little questionable, so I was religiously checking my weather app and crossing my fingers for sun.   We ended up with a beautiful day, sunny with a few clouds decorating the blue sky. These clouds eventually gave way to rain, but not until much later, once everyone was inside dancing the night away to music provided by The Noisy Boys. We were just setting up our epic end of the night shot and it came just in time to add all of these gorgeous reflections that bounced off the driveway in front of the beautifully lit-up venue.

This wedding was a BLAST   – some of the best speeches I’ve heard, the most epic father-daughter dance probably ever performed, and the best-timed weather we could have asked for. Julia & Dan – you were such a pleasure to work with! Your love for each other is undeniable and we are so honored to have been a part of your day. So excited to share all of these beautiful memories with you and your friends & family!
