One of my favorite things about shooting weddings is being able to relive the day through the images we create. It means a lot to be able to provide this experience to our clients; to bring them back and allow them to see and feel all of the excitement and joy from their special day. Jen and Paul’s sweet Spring wedding was filled with emotions and I felt honored to be there to capture it all.

We started off at Jen’s uncle’s house, where the girls were getting ready. Being on the market, the house was mostly empty – perfect for pictures! The dining room had a gorgeous chandelier and quickly became my favorite spot for dress and group shots.

The ceremony was at the beautiful, newly redone, 171 Genesee in downtown Utica. The room was bright and intimate. Jen and Paul were married in front of a large wall of windows facing the downtown streets below. Being April in Upstate New York, we knew the weather would be unpredictable, so we were prepared with a mostly indoor agenda for the day. What I loved about this couple was their willingness to roll with the punches. There were a few sites we had hoped to fit in, but the gusting wind and spotty rain prevented it. Jen and Paul didn’t let this dampen their day – nothing was going to stop them from enjoying every single moment. Luckily, 171 Genesee had additional rooms which were each gorgeous in their own way.

We finished up the day at the Radisson Hotel right down the street, where the decorations were absolutely stunning. After first dances, speeches and a captivating solo performance, dinner and dancing ensued. At the end of the night, once the rain had cleared, we were able to steal the couple away to sneak in a few fun night shots.
