Krystina & Sophear

This fall I had the pleasure of working with Krystina and Sophear, who were excitedly awaiting the birth of their first child, due this November. Being later in the season, we had to do a little improvising to find the best spot to capture the lingering autumn colors. After a little bit of a hike through the woods, we ended up discovering the perfect setting within Beaver Lake Nature Center. Kudos to Krystina for doing the whole thing in high heels! I LOVED Krystina’s bright red dress and how it popped against the backdrop, but still complimented the warm fall colors as the light filtered through the glowing yellow leaves.
They came prepared with a number of adorable props as well as a more casual outfit change. We even found our way to an opening overlooking the lake and another view of vivid color. Below are some favorites from this really fun session with Krystina and Sopher:
After these sweet moments under the canopy of golden leaves, we headed back to the car. When we arrived back at their house, we were greeted by their chickens who were busy taking dirt baths, something I had not witnessed before. I couldn’t help but snap a couple of shots while they burrowed into the loose soil and tossed it all over themselves.
Sophear had one more request before we wrapped up – he went inside for a few minutes and came out in his special “Super Dad” outfit. The three of us could not stop cracking up as he posed in his classic dad attire complete with an oversized fanny pack and tall white socks. Clearly he is more than ready for his new role 😂
