Engagement: Reesa & John | Sodus Point Lighthouse
I couldn’t have asked for a better day to shoot Reesa & John’s engagement session. The weather was absolutely perfect, especially for late September! They had decided to go back to the location where he proposed and she said “YES.” It was amazing to see them relive that moment in the exact location, a little over a year later. These two are the cutest couple, the perfect pair, and so completely in love – it’s impossible not to smile around them. I think this is all pretty obvious when you see the photographs that follow. I could have spent all day with these two, they were so relaxed and natural, and excitedly went along with all of my ideas – they made my job extremely easy!
After shooting for a while on the pier leading to the lighthouse, where the sun was quite harsh, we decided to walk down the beach a bit to find some shade. We found the perfect spot for some really great portraits!
The balloons were such a cute addition to these photos, but that wasn’t their only purpose. Reesa and John had created postcards to send off with the balloons, which had a little message on them about being engaged and asking people to please send the postcards back with a note. So far I’ve heard that one has already been mailed back, which had made it’s way to the rocky shore of Robert Wehle Park in Henderson Harbor, NY. I absolutely loved this idea!
After a perfect day of photographing, they took me to Captain Jack’s, where they serve the most AMAZING Lobster Bisque! Mmmmm sooo good! Thanks for such an amazing day you two!
